Café and visitor centre seasonal opening hours

Information for autumn and winter

Rays

As in previous years, our cafés will have reduced opening throughout the autumn and winter, and opening times will be earlier in line with daylight hours.

As last year, Boscombe Chine Gardens Café and mini golf will close during the winter months, and so will Alexandra Park Café.

Kingfisher Barn Visitor Centre will also close for the winter, in line with seasonal flooding at the site and a lack of visitors during this period.

Autumn and winter opening hours are detailed below.

Redhill Park Café, and Winton Park Café:

  • 30 Sept – 27 Oct: Tuesday – Sunday, 09:30 – 16:30
  • 28 Oct – 30 March 2025: Tuesday – Sunday, 09:00 – 16:00
  • Closed 23 Dec – 3 Jan 2025.

Alexandra Park Café

  • 30 Sept – 27 Oct: Tuesday – Sunday, 09:30 – 16:30
  • 28 Oct – 22 Dec: Wednesday – Sunday, 09:00 – 16:00
  • Closed from 23 Dec until April 2025.

The Alexandra Park GreenFingers volunteer gardening group held outdoors in the park will run throughout, and we will continue to make planned enhancements in the park including beginning work on a new SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage System) to collect water from the café roof to use in the community growing space. We will also use the winter period to plan future events and activities.

We will continue to work with BCP Council towards the provision of ramped access to the café in readiness for reopening in April.

The café can still be booked for private events, meetings, and celebrations. For all enquiries, please contact: dan@parksfoundation.org.uk

Boscombe Chine Gardens Café and mini golf:

  • 23 Sept – 28 Oct: Saturdays and Sundays, 11:00 – 16:00
  • Open Monday 28 Oct – Sunday 3 Nov (Half Term), 11:00 – 16:00
  • Closed from 4 Nov until April 2025.

Kingfisher Barn Visitor Centre:

  • 30 Sept – 22 Dec: Saturdays and Sundays, 10:00 – 16:00
  • Open Monday 28 Oct – Sunday 3 Nov (Half Term), 10:00 – 16:00
  • Closed from 23 Dec until April 2025.

The Kingfisher Barn volunteer gardening club held outdoors at the site will run throughout, and maintenance of the area will remain with BCP Council. We will use the winter period to plan for the installation of raised vegetable beds to go alongside the new outdoor classroom, as well as future events and activities.

All four of our community cafés and Kingfisher Barn Visitor Centre will reopen seven days a week for the summer season from April 2025.
