What we do

We are a small but perfectly formed independent charity devoted to enhancing Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole’s parks and green spaces for everyone to enjoy. Parks breathe life into our towns providing our communities with precious spaces to get together, exercise and play.

Fun activities for February

Looking for activities for all the family this February half term? Join us to have fun in nature and help garden birds too – you can build and decorate your own bird box and create a nest helper for the start of the nesting season, or make a pinecone bird feeder to hang in your garden.

If you’re feeling creative, there are weekly clay craft sessions throughout the month at our Kingfisher Barn Visitor Centre on the Stour Valley Nature Reserve in Bournemouth with a different theme each time.

And our GreenFingers gardening groups will be busy as ever, taking care of local parks and community food growing spaces.

New to gardening? That’s no problem – there are tasks to suit new and experienced gardeners alike, and we’ll learn from each other as we go.

Community Sundays

Join us for Community Sundays, running weekly throughout the winter, offering a hot lunch on a ‘pay what you can’ basis at our community cafes.

Food will be served up in a communal style, encouraging company and conversation in a warm and welcoming environment. It’s a great reason to get out and about on a winter weekend, enjoy some time in the park, and spend time with others.

We would like to sincerely thank Dorset Community Foundation and the BCP Food & Energy Support Fund for providing funding for this initiative.

Wellies in autumn leaves

We need wellies – can you help?

We’re creating a ‘Welly Bank’ at our charity’s café at Redhill Park Café (Bournemouth).

Our Welly Bank will offer free-to-take wet weather clothing like waterproofs and wellies to help members of our local community enjoy the outdoors in all weathers.

We’re looking for donations of good quality, unwanted or preloved cold/ wet weather outer wear, for all ages and sizes – can you help?
