Free food on Fridays at our community cafes in Bournemouth

We are inviting local people to join us for a free breakfast or lunch on Fridays throughout February and March at our community cafes at Winton Recreation Ground and Redhill Park in Bournemouth.

The ‘Friday’s on the House’ initiative is open to people aged 65 years and over, or those in receipt of Universal Credits or other income-related benefits, and offers free food and drink up to the value of £15.

The offer can be redeemed at either Winton Park Café or Redhill Park Café during their opening hours of 9am – 4pm, beginning on Friday 7 February and ending on Friday 28 March (or sooner, depending on demand). No booking is required.

John Hanson, Chief Executive Officer of The Parks Foundation said “We are really pleased to launch our ‘Friday’s on the House’ initiative, offering more than 300 free meals for members of our local community.

“We look forward to welcoming people into our friendly cafes to enjoy a hot or cold drink and tasty breakfast or lunch item of their choice from our menu during the colder months, without the worry of the expense of eating out.

“We’re working with organisations in the local area to distribute vouchers which can be redeemed with us for this offer, or our café teams are happy to help with enquiries during your visit.”

Organisations distributing vouchers for the offer are: The Hope Hub, LIFEhouse at Bournemouth Community Church, and Winton Salvation Army.

We would like to thank Dorset Community Foundation and the BCP Food & Energy Support Fund for providing the funding for this initiative.

Our charity works to enhance local parks across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole for the benefit of people and wildlife.

Our community cafés are run almost entirely by volunteers, and profits are reinvested into our work.
