Love your Parks 2021 Rules
About the competition
- The Love Your Parks 2021 photographic competition (the “competition”) is owned and run by The Parks Foundation, a charity registered in England and Wales, no. 1159939.
- The competition is free to enter for people of all ages and abilities and using any form of camera, including phones.
- The competition aims to promote high quality and beautiful photography and share the diversity of parks across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) area and how we spend time in them.
DATES
- The competition opens at 0700hrs on Friday 23 July 2021
- The competition closes at midnight on Tuesday 31 August 2021.
- Judging will take place within three weeks of the competition closing date.
- Winners will be contacted by a member of The Parks Foundation within a week of judging.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
- Photographs must be taken in one of Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole’s (BCP) parks or green spaces.
- Your entry to the competition can only be accepted online by registering at https://www.parksfoundation.org.uk/loveyourpark
- Entrants must complete all sections of the online form, including a title per image, image location (including park location), date taken, subject name & detail..
- Each image must clearly identify which competition category it relates to.
- There is no limit to the number of entries per person.
- Images must be uploaded as JPEGs and the highest quality you have, but no bigger than 10MB and image size no smaller than 1500pixels wide .
- Images must not include any watermarks, borders, signatures, etc.
- The Parks Foundation cannot accept any responsibility for any problem with the internet service provider, network or other system which may result in any entry being delayed or not properly registered; proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
- Entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
- Drone photography is not permitted.
- For health and safety reasons relating to Coronavirus we regret we are unable to accept hard copies sent through the post.

ELIGIBILITY
- The competition is open to all, apart from anyone associated with it including The Park Foundation employees, Trustees and judges.
- Entrants for the ‘Under 18s (11-17 years)’ category must be between 11 and 17 years old on the day the competition closes.
- Entrants for ‘Under 11s’ must be under 11 years old on the day the competition closes.
- Entrants 15 years or younger must have a parent or legal guardian’s permission to enter the competition and, this, supply a valid email address for The Parks Foundation to contact them.
- All images submitted must be the original work of the entrant.
- Submitted images must not have been published elsewhere, made available on stock libraries, or have won a prize in any other photographic competition.
- Photographs must be taken responsibly. Entrants must not cause injury, damage or do anything to distress any wildlife, either deliberately or inadvertently, whilst trying to take a photograph. Respect must be given for local habitats, communities and business where there may be local instructions in place for visitors, walkers and others using the park or green space. Current Government guidance regarding Coronavirus must be adhered to at all times when taking photographs: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus
- It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject, do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws, and are their own work which they own the copyright to. The Parks Foundation cannot be liable if another person’s rights are breached and the entrant agrees to indemnify The Parks Foundation in respect of any claim from a third party.
JUDGING AND IMAGE USAGE
- The Park Foundation’s decision as to the eligibility of individual photographs and the judge’s decision regarding winners will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Prizes will be awarded to winners of each single image category and an overall winner
- The prizes are non-transferable.
- The prizes must be claimed within one year of the competition winners being announced or will be forfeited.
- Unsuccessful entrants will not be contacted and no feedback on any entry will be provided.
- If the winner is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made, The Parks Foundation reserves the right to either offer the prize to a runner up, or to re-offer the prize in any future competition.
- Entrants retain the copyright of their submitted photos.
- By entering the competition, entrants agree to grant The Parks Foundation to a perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, exhibit and post the submitted images in any medium, including print and digital. This includes, but is not limited to, competition calendar, notecards, for use in press and on websites, and wall art. No fees will be payable for any of these uses.
- Wherever possible, The Parks Foundation will credit the entrant as the photographer.
DISCLAIMER
- The information given in these Terms & Conditions is correct, but The Parks Foundation reserves the right to change any of it without prior notice.
- The Parks Foundation reserves the right to cancel this competition or alter any of the rules at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.
- By entering the competition, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Any breach of these Terms by an entrant will void their entry. If a breach has occurred, but is discovered after the award of a prize, then the organisers may require the return of that prize.
DATA PROTECTION
- In entering this competition, you agree to The Parks Foundation using your details to process your entry, only.
- Names of winners may be disclosed in post-competition publicity. Winners may be required to take part in publicity and/or provide PR quotes.
- For information on how we will use and store your information please view our Privacy Policy We respect your privacy and will never sell your data to any third party.
- The law applicable to the Competition is English Law.
